So much so, in fact, that Pilgrim Outpost offers a "cross-franchise experience" between Dying Light 1 and Dying Light 2. This extends even outside the game because Techland wants it to be a truly immersive experience for fans. Michalak describes the Pilgrim Outpost as a "communication hub" for players to find new things to do in-game, complete new challenges, and meet other Dying Light fans and be engaged with the game.
